Ryzza Mae Show and Eat Bulaga member Ryzza Mae summoned by MTRCB

Child star Ryzza Mae is being summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for allegedly being subject to child un-friendly scenes.  I’ve watched the show a few times and frankly, I pity the little girl for having to host her very own show at such a young age, and a daily talk show at that!  If someone like Willy Revillame who has several co-hosts helping him do his show suffer from burn out, what more for a little girl like Ryzza.

The MTRCB statement said:

The MTRCB has called the programs Eat Bulaga and The Ryzza Mae Show to a mandatory conference on 05 September 2013 for scenes allegedly insensitive and unfriendly to children.

“In Eat Bulaga’s 29 July 2013 episode, a host spat juice into the face of child actress-host Ryzza Mae Dizon.

“And during the 14 August 2013 episode of The Ryzza Mae Show, a guest told the said child actress-host “landing bata ka”—to which the latter replied by pleading that she was just a child, and asking the said guest not to be harsh with her.

“These scenes palpably violate the dignity of the child and have to be addressed by the show’s producer, TAPE Inc., as well as GMA Channel 7 over which the said shows air.

“The MTRCB hopes in the cooperation of all those concerned in finding out what caused these scenes, who are responsible therefor, and what immediate and concrete measures can be done so they do not happen again.

“In this connection, the MTRCB reiterates its serious and urgent concern for the welfare of children, who are most vulnerable in media and entertainment.”
