The Regular Joe NBI cop that Piolo Pascual plays in the movie OTJ or On The Job obviously can’t afford a range rover. Much less that smooth and sleek white crossover he was driving which was called the Range Rover or Land Rover Evoque, which costs about 5.5 million pesos.

But if the script could write it in that it was a gift from his government official father in law, it would be an excellent product placement, wouldn’t it?

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Movie Review

Comments Off on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Movie Review

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is an adaptation of the bestselling series, The Mortal Instruments, by Cassandra Clare. Think Harry Potter meets Twilight. There’s a lot of magic, vampires, werewolves, good vs. evil kind of stuff. For those who have not read the book, the movie might be a little confusing and superficial at times. The movie failed to develop the personality and the background of the characters. I would suggest to read the book first before watching the movie to get a grasp of who’s who and the emotions that are supposed to be there between the characters. The book is an easy read, will take less than a day to finish. What I love about the movie is that its lead actors, Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower did not disappoint. Their chemistry on film was much better than Emma Watson and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter’s Hermione and Ron). The other supporting actors were great too. I just wished they had a better script to deal with. The biggest disappointment for me was the role of Magnus Bane. He was supposed to be this hip and powerful Wizard but sadly, his exposure was too limited. Same goes for Valentine, did not show the “Voldemort” level of evilness. Overall, its a nice movie with great effects and cool fight scenes.

did stan lee make a cameo appearance in The wolverine movie this 2013?

Stan Lee

We all know stan lee loves to make a personal cameo appearance in most of the marvel movies, but I didn’t seem to see him in The Wolverine movie this 2013!

Well, he did not appear in the movie Wolverine, because Stan lee only appears in the film versions of characters he created alone – he was not the sole creator of Wolverine.

This is also the reason why he does not have a cameo in Ghost Rider, Elektra or The Punisher

Although he is credited as the Executive Producer, he says he didn’t have time to fly to Australia to film the cameo.

Comments Off on Ilo-ilo: First Singaporean Film to win in 66th Cannes Film Festival

A very heartwarming and touching story lies behind the making of “Ilo-ilo”,  the first Singaporean film to ever win the Camera D’Or Award in the Cannes Film Festival.  The movie was inspired by the director, Anthony Chen’s,  personal experience with his childhood maid, Teresa (Terry).  After winning the award, Chen went to the Philippines to be reunited with  his inspiration.   Terry, or Teresita Sajonia was found back in Iloilo, her hometown.  It was a shock to him when he found out that  Terry had been living in an old shack and had no income or financial savings whatsoever.  Her plight echoes the plight of similar OFWs who send all the hard earned income back to their relatives  in Philippines  and forget to set aside some for themselves.   Some of them even get “conned” to send money on the pretense of investing the funds in a business, a parcel of land or some investments.

Did Han really die in Fast and Furious 3 Tokyo drift? Well, yes, and Fast 6 proves it with the ending spoiler credits scene

Comments Off on Did Han really die in Fast and Furious 3 Tokyo drift? Well, yes, and Fast 6 proves it with the ending spoiler credits scene

We all remember Tokyo Drift’s Japanese Fast and Furious racer Han dying in the end.

This is a movie that came close to just bringing back characters from the dead just for the franchise, but the ending spoiler scenes after Fast 6 saves that notion and explains the Chronology.

Apparently, the movies did not come out in chronological order…. 1, 2, 4, 5, then Fast and the Furious 6,  THEN 3 Tokyo Drift comes after, and then we have the up and coming Fast 7.

Iron Man 3 March Latest Trailer

Can’t wait! barely two months left until the April showing of Iron Man 3.  It features a new type of armor which bonds with his skin, the return of Don Cheadle as backup War Machine, some guy in Iron Patriot suit in defense of America, plus some other soldiers in Iron Man armor.

My only question is, the villain Mandarin should have been undoubtedly cast as Asian or Chinese.  So why is Ben Kingsley playing the Mandarin, with a lousy robotic accent?   The Mandarin, in comic lore,  is the son of one of pre-Revolutionary China’s wealthiest men and an English noblewoman, as well as a descendant of Ghengis Khan.

The second official movie trailer from DC Comics Warner Brothers’ June 14 2013 Movie, Man of Steel

what the hell, if it gets any more boring, I won’t watch.  Kidding aside, who won’t want to view this movie?  But I swear, the trailers have to pick up pace, though.

The movie theme so far:

A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.
